To understand Physics better I've utilized this website and other hosted websites, such as blogs; when documenting what I've learned or what am still trying to learn. These topics all seem to me to be related to the formulation of a Theory of Everything (a Grand Unification Theory) in that all my questions lead back to the big question (which is really three big questions) - that may never be answered in my lifetime, or even the lifespan of the human race: what were the conditions at the time of the big bang, and if we understand that; could we then understand; or have a glimmer of, any pre-big bang conditions? And would that then, give us an idea of what will come of our universe?
So this site tries to explore all of the historical and current thought about physics meant to be relative to the development of a unified field theory (also known as a 'TOE' - Theory of Everything, or a 'GUT' Grand Unified Theory). Since the 1800s, physicists have attempted to develop a single theoretical framework that can account for the fundamental forces of nature – a unified field theory. Classical unified field theories are attempts to create a unified field theory based on classical physics. In the early 20th century, the unification of gravitation and electromagnetism was actively pursued by several physicists and mathematicians, specifically Albert Einstein. This work spurred the purely mathematical development of differential geometry.
This model of physics will attempt to predict that at extremely high energies* the Fundamental Forces known as the electromagnetic, weak nuclear, and strong nuclear forces are fused into a single unified field.. *(energies above 1014 GeV - According to Stephen Hawking in A Brief History of Time, "The value of the grand unification energy is not very well known, but it would probably have to be at least a thousand million million (1015) GeV." The most powerful particle colliders ever designed can go up to a few thousand GeV. The scale 1015 GeV is only a few orders of magnitude below the Planck scale at which gravitational effects become dominant.)
So far, physicists have been able to merge electromagnetism and the weak nuclear force into the electroweak force, and work is being done to merge electroweak and quantum chromodynamics into a QCD-electroweak interaction sometimes called the electrostrong force. Beyond grand unification, there is also speculation that it may be possible to merge gravity with the other three gauge symmetries into a theory of everything.
That is the underlying focus of this website as well as to educate about physics. I have included articles from chaos mathematics because I feel it is relative to this.
